School lockdowns are a very bad idea and here’s why.
Instead of locking kids down in a dangerous situation they should be allowed to flee. People will instinctively run away from the shooting. That’s just what happened in the Highlands Ranch shooting. Many high school kids ran away from the building.
If a shooter is in the building -- don’t lock the kids in the same building.
Here’s another reason lockdowns are ridiculous. A few weeks ago more than half a million students were put in lockdown to look for one possible shooter in Colorado. Is this how we want to live? Is this the new normal? A much better solution is to place 4 armed guards around the perimeter of each school.
Lockdowns and active shooter drills do nothing but traumatize the children.
